Date: 25 February 2015 Category: Products

Montreal, QC, February 25, 2015- Luminis (www.luminis.com), an established innovator and manufacturer of specification grade lighting solutions, is pleased to announce that its Aramis AR150 and Syrios family luminaires have been awarded Architectural SSL Product Innovation Awards (PIA) from Architectural SSL magazine.

Honoring the most innovative LED and solid-state luminaires and fixtures on the market, the PIAs recognize leaders in cutting-edge research and development, development of standards, and the push towards making solid-state lighting a sustainable technology. Conferred by a panel of distinguished designers and lighting specialists, the PIAs identify industry-leading performance and functionality in interior, exterior and components categories, as well as in market leadership and on-site application.

Aramis AR150 won in the Decorative and Pendants category. The Judges´ commented that it is "An overall nice, higher output LED cylinder product." It is a high power LED luminaire that combines a clean design aesthetic with high light output for use in interior applications such as shopping malls, retail stores, convention centers, sports centers and transportation terminals. Heat management optimization means Aramis delivers a luminous efficacy three times that of a conventional HID light source.

The Syrios family of fully engineered and integrated exterior luminaires were recognized in the Area and Exterior Lighting category. The Judges´ commented on the product being "highly customizable and precise," having "very good life expectancy," that "proportions are attractive for this classic form," and that "all of the mounting options are good." Wall, pendant, and surface ceiling mounted configurations in various diameters provide the flexibility to mix and match products while maintaining a common design aesthetic within traditional or contemporary architectural settings such as schools, public spaces, office buildings, shopping centers and hospitals. Syrios products also feature a unique integral adjustable lamp to enable precise directional light without disturbing the position of the luminaire.

"These two 2015 PIA awards are a testament to our commitment to product innovation and to beautifully designed, high-performance luminaires," said Nicolas Cohen, President of Luminis. "Our Aramis and Syrios products deliver exceptional performance while maintaining unparalleled design integrity and we are very proud that they have been recognized in this way."

The same products were recently chosen for inclusion in the 2014 IES Progress Report, an annual IES publication dedicated to recognizing significant contributions to the lighting industry.
